What is Pitch Night?

Join Baton Rouge's entrepreneurs this Thursday night as 3 of the area's tech startups pitch their business in a competitive and energy filled environment. Get involved by asking the founders interesting questions to uncover more about their vision, and watch as 3 experts provide valuable and real feedback to make these startups better. Food from Restaurant IPO is included in the price of admission as well as networking with BR's top entrepreneurs and professionals.

Who can Pitch?

Pitch Night #16 is open to entrepreneurs/business owners from all industries and across all of Louisiana. These businesses must be seeking debt/equity capital to launch or grow their business. Companies must have a digital presentation prepared and timed to under 10 minutes. Presenters will also be prepared to answer questions from the SeNSE members in the audience as well as take notes from the panelists' feedback.

What value do companies/founders receive from pitching at SeNSE Pitch Night?

The purpose is to receive direct feedback on your company's solution and business model in order to ensure that you are in fact on a path to success and to raise the awareness level of your company's needs among the local community. Past presenters at SeNSE Pitch Nights have been connected with the following stakeholders throughout the Pitch Night process:

What is the format?

We like to keep things simple and fluid. Each of the businesses will have 10 minutes to give their "investor" pitch. Next presenters should be prepared to answer 2-4 questions from audience members. They should answer each question in under 30 seconds in a positive, clear and concise manner. Lastly, presenters will obtain feedback from the experts on how to improve their pitch and their business model. They should not try to offer a rebuttal to the panel unless one is specifically asked for.

What value does the Panel provide?

Our panel is comprised of diverse and proven experts from various backrounds such as technology startups, venture capital, private equity, business ownership and more. They have been trained to observe the pitch closely to look for positive indicators as well as inconsistencies that may cause the entrepreneur to lose a deal in a real-life investment pitch environment. Our panelists are focused on helping to improve the entrepreneurs' chance of raising capital.
